Affiliate Marketing
An affiliate is a person who promotes others products or services and rewarded for each visitor, customer, subscriber or sale provided through his/her efforts. Here, the business owner has not to do anything as promotional; something like delivering messages and organizing marketing campaigns. For example, if you have a website about dogs and want to become a successful affiliate marketer, all you have to do is putting a link on your website to another website that sells dog products or other sites related to dogs. You get paid each time when a visitor clicks on the link and buys something.
Affiliate marketing (known in different names - referral marketing, performance marketing, paid lead generation, and associate marketing) is one of the most common ways of making money online. In this method, you can make money by selling someone else's products via your website. It is inexpensive, fast responding, and taking little effort.
Owing to the reason of being accessible to most of the website marketers and the feature of generating income automatically, affiliate program has become a passion in online business world. Other reasons to promote affiliate programs and affiliate products are:
- No customer service
- No need to invest money and time for products
- Weekly or monthly review
- Easily promote two or more programs at a time
- Lowest business investment
Some of the drawbacks of being an affiliate are
- An affiliate has limited authority (limited control over merchant website)
- Restrictions on doing joint ventures
- Less authority
- Unable to build customer lists
- Earns a little percentage
