Yes, there are!

Even though the Coronavirus is something new and the infection has been declared a public health emergency of international concern by WHO recently, certain 2020 ICD-10-CM codes can be used to document COVID-19. WHO recently released emergency ICD codes for ‘2019-nCoV’ disease outbreak. CMS has also developed a new Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code (U0001) for providers and laboratories to test patients for SARS-CoV-2. This will allow labs conducting the tests to bill for the specific test instead of using an unspecified code. Professional medical coding companies must be up to date with such current coding updates.
