The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) will reimburse many audio phone-only behavioral health and patient education services during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This announcement is a major victory for medicine, as physicians can now provide care for their patients, especially their elderly patients with chronic conditions who may not have access to audio-visual technology or high-speed Internet. Psychologists can rely on medical billing companies to help them submit claims for services delivered via telephone.
